Reflexology Lymph Drainage
What it is?
Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) is an award winning reflexology technique which stimulates the lymphatic reflexes on the feet and hands.
Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) is very gentle and relaxing treatment which can be used alongside existing therapies or medical treatments.
Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) is mainly used with cancer patients, lymphoedema and autoimmune diseases but may be useful with the following conditions: arthritis, asthma, eczema, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, ME, sinus problems, migraines, headaches, muscular tension, aches and pains, premenstrual syndrome, and many more.
How it works?
This award winning technique was developed and researched by Sally Kay BSc (Hons), whilst working in Cancer Care.
Her protocol has also been found effective in treating clients suffering with problems such as lymphoedema. For more information, see www.reflexologylymphdrainage.co.uk
I was fortunate enough to be trained with Sally so now I am able to support many clients with cancer, lymphoedema and autoimmune diseases.
The lymphatic system is part of the circulatory system and serves the very important function of detoxification and fighting infections. It helps remove excess fluid from tissues and helps absorb fat from around the intestine.
What to expect?
During the first Reflexology session (which is usually longer), I will take a detailed medical history, as well as lifestyle and health details.
Treatments are performed in a comfortable chair or couch. The client will stay fully dressed and will be asked to remove footwear and socks for foot reflexology. I will make a visual and tactile examination of the area to be worked on before beginning the treatment.
The typical Reflexology session lasts 60 minutes with 45 minutes of treatment. Depending on the reasons for you having Reflexology, a course of several sessions might be recommended. At every Reflexology session, an individual treatment plan is prepared with lifestyle, diet and relaxation advice.
